I finally got up the guts to weigh myself yesterday morning. It is the first time I've done it in months but this past week has been the motivation I needed to face up to reality and see what numbers I'm really looking at. I know I don't need to lose a lot of weight, by any means... but it is amazing how even just 5 pounds can affect how pants fit! So my official goal is to lose 7 lbs; 10 lbs would be great but 7 would get me back to where I used to be a couple summers ago.
Here's the down low of my workouts so far this week:
Yesterday I hit Body Pump again. I even added a little weight to squats and chest and I made it through lunges without my legs shaking. I also did 20 minutes of walking hills on the treadmill before class.
This morning I was up early (Don had to be at work by 7:30) so I was at the gym by 7:45 and did 60 min of cardio: 30 min on the elliptical doing the hills program and then another 30 min walking hills on the treadmill. The knee is still bothering me so I'm really not going to let myself run for at least a week or more. I hate taking the break, but every week I start to feel better and then I jog and my knee hurts for the next two days.
I also stopped at Super Target after the workout and bought some good for me food. It amazes me that eating healthy costs more money, but I suppose it is the sacrifice I have to make. Look at it this way: it costs less that having heart surgery in 20 or 30 years!
