It's true, I am. I even wore my green shorts to the gym today even though I don't like the way they fit. Okay, here's the down low on recent gym activity. I skipped the gym on Saturday, but I had gone for more than 7 days in a row...time for a break! Yesterday, Don and I went to breakfast...I did eat almost two pancakes (not tiny ones you make at home) and I also added the eggs and sausage. I don't feel bad about the eggs, and the sausage is really good and I haven't had it in forever...and the last bite fell on the floor, so God must have thought I didn't need all of it! But after breakfast, and some time to digest, Don and I went to the gym. I ran 3 miles straight, my knee didn't hurt but I could feel it slightly, so I walked for a half hour after, making it an hour of cardio . Last night was also the March birthday celebrations at Don's house. The food theme was Mexican. We arrived late, which turned out to be a good thing because I was rushed to eat and that kept me from going back for seconds. I also loaded up on fruit instead of chips and cheese. I did have a piece of cake, but all of this is still an improvement from recent months.
Today I went to Body Pump. I did a little over 20 minutes cardio beforehand, but nothing strenuous. I upped a couple of my weights, squats and chest. Now I am going to follow Karrie's lead and document the weights I am doing right now, so I can look back and see how I have improved. Here it is:
Warm-up: Large
Squats: Large & Medium
Chest: Large
Back: Large & Small
Triceps: Medium (trying to work on adding the small)
Biceps: Medium (sometimes I add a small, depending on which track is playing)
Lunges: No Weights
Shoulders: Mediums or smalls, once again, depends on the track
The only weights I think I have a good chance of improving are squats, back, and triceps. I might be able to improve chest, but a large is the best I've ever done in two years. I will certainly improve the weight if the time is right. Okay, that's enough of an update for now... I can't make Body Pump three times this week due to my schedule and the fact that our gym won't be having any classes this weekend due to some training thing the instructors are doing. My only chance was Easter anyway.... I will try to do free weights on Friday to make up for the missed class! I'm really done now.
