Early Bird Gets the Run
Sort of, anyway.... I started the day early, making it to the gym by 7:30. Although I really enjoy sleeping in a little on the weekends, it feels really god to have my workout done and the whole day free to do what I want. I do have a lot to try to do today, some fun and some chores around the house, but at least the stress of fitting a workout in is gone. I ran on the treadmill (this is after hardly running all week because of muscle spasms and sore parts) and I made 4 miles. I really hoped i would be able to push it to 5, after all, the 10k is two weeks away.... But my legs wouldn't go. I hope I can rev up the workouts over those two weeks so I can at least run the whole 10k, even if it is a slow jog. I would like to comment, however, that there are all kinds of fun things occurring that weekend that I cannot partake in because of this 10k. One of them being the Plaza Art Festival in Kansas City and the other being the Applejack Festival in Nebraska City, both are places I would really like to visit. I'd like to say I can go next year, but I hope to go someplace cooler for our honeymoon... and after all the costs of the wedding I don't think we'll fit in a weekend trip anywhere. September is turning out to be a busy month and before you know it it is going to October, Halloween, Thanksgiving and Christmas... and then the dreaded 3 months of winter that makes me a crabby girl. I hate having to wear long pants over my gym shorts... changing shoes because of snow also adds quite a bit of time onto trips to the gym. I will try to be in a good mood until it all happens, but thinking about it stills makes me cranky!

I am super-impressed with the gym at 7:30 on a Saturday. I can't wait till you are done training for this 10k so you start going to the Pump/Combat class at you gym on Saturday mornings again -- then I can join you!
It works out well though, cause I am busy every Saturday in Sept... see you Friday. I'll have to call you to get your address and set up the details!
