The Big 5

I did it last night.... I ran 5 miles straight (only a couple stops to wipe the sweat off of my face and take a swig of water). I even almost talked myself out of going to the gym last night because I have so much to do at home.... Not that it all has to be done right now, I'm just happier when I'm not living in a total mess. So maybe I will actually finish this 10k. It's not this Sunday, but the next... so my hope is to make 6 miles this next Sunday just to reassure myself. Tonight I am going to try to do 4 (which was the original goal last night). I also want to do 4 on Saturday as well....

At least tonight I don't have to do anything for dinner. With Don working until 10 right now, I don't get much done in the evening because once I am home from the gym and showered it's after 7 pm, and then once I make something for dinner and clean up from that, I only have about an hour to do anything else around the house before going to bed. Plus, yesterday my back decided to tighten up again. I think it's chronic stress or something.... But that limited my time because it hurt to do much of anything... and Project Runway was on, which also took up an hour of my night! It's going to be bad in two weeks because all of my shows are starting up again.... I wish I had Tivo!

WooHoo, I am so impressed by you. I knew you could do it. You are going to do excellent. Here's a question: When you train for a marathon, or half marathon you never have to pratice running the whole thing. For example, you only run 22 miles and assume you can add on four more on race day (otherwise you'd tire out your body). Why don't we do that for other races? Besides them not being as long... why don't we train for a 10k, by running only 5 miles and assuming the 6th will come?
