Mother's Day Week
This is going to be a busy week at work. With Mother's Day on Sunday that means we will be busy, busy, busy. This also means it will be difficult to make good food choices because I will hardly take breaks and my manager will probably go buy some naughty thing from the bakery and I'll be hungry and munch on it all day long. The good news is, is that I'll be able to make it to three Body Pump classes this week along with other cardio sessions. I need to look good by Friday! This is when my HS reunion is and I keep hearing about different people coming and it's beginning to overwhelm me. I was not the biggest fan of high school and have found it difficult to keep in contact with friends from high school. I think I've changed a lot in the past ten years so I feel like I'm a totally different person, and how do I communicate with people now? I've never been good at that in the first place! Anyway, I need to get to work now.... Then it's off to the gym for a good workout!

I'm dreading my reunion. I guess you're lucky that it will all be over soon. It's exciting that you'll get to see people that you haven't seen in years. But, it's hard to explain all the ways you've changed to them over a drink. Maybe you'll revive friendships that you used to have, and then you can spend time showing them what a cool person you are. And probably there will be people there that aren't cool enough (and you don't care enough about) to know how awesome you are.
I kind of think the reunion thing will make people act like they did in high school, regardless of the way they are now. I'm not talking about people like us necessarily, but I see most everybody only talking to people they talked to in high school and the same groups will form. Maybe I'll be surprised, who knows?
I'm afraid I will revert back into my totally insecure high school self on Friday. At least Don will be there to fall back on in case it all goes badly!
I bet you don't. You should be proud of who you are now: A strong, smart, confident, adventurous woman. So what that you don't like where you are career-wise. You tried something (grad school) and it didn't work out. Much better than those who took the easy path! Think of everything that has worked out! You should be proud of what you have accomplished, and that will show when you talk to those people.
