The Time Has Come

According to my previous stated workout schedule for today, I should still be at the gym. However, I left class early and went for a nice calming, yet brisk, walk. I don't know if it was the fact that I forgot socks, or that Tomas was co-teaching Pump, but on my first attempt at taking a class by Marika, I couldn't take it. Now, Tomas has co-taught many classes in my days of attending classes, but I prefer to have him in Combat that Pump (I would prefer never, but I don't think I have the choice). It is not like me to quit class when I've already started but my feet were sweating in my shoes after squats and I was sick of being yelled at.

"Lower, Lower!! You can do better! Work harder!" These are direct quotes from class. To be honest, I am open to trying out new instructors but I believe instructor is different from coach. I prefer being told, "This is your workout, work as hard as you want to, just don't quit." I also think that because my body is not yet back in total "Pump" form like it used to be, class is still hard for me. I'm doing the best I can! Maybe I'm a little too sensitive, but it really is my workout and I just want to be reminded that the fact that I'm there at all is better than sitting on my ass watching Dancing With the Stars.... Speaking of that, the results show is coming up (as long as Warren Sapp is still in, I'm happy) and then the big Presidential debate. I am going to continue cooling down and watch some good old fashioned TV.

Who wouldn't hate a class with Tomas - I'm so glad to be rid of him forever. And I can't believe I'm going to say this, but I'm glad Marika teaches our classes. I saw the alternative, and it was awful, so I was happy Marika was going to start teaching. Although I do think she isn't quite as much of a drill sargent at the goodyear fitness center, which is nice too.

Ugh... Tomas. (I am making a puking face right now). Once he said in the middle of our lunge track: "If you guys don't go lower we will start the song over at the beginning." To which I said, out loud but not loud enough for him to hear me: "And I will turn around and go home!"
So I am glad that you left. You showed him who's boss.

Yeah, I think most of the problem was that Tomas was there. She might be different without her "boss" teaching with her. I just really don't understand why he was there at all. Without classes in Lincoln now he only has to spread his time between the two gyms here in Omaha. Dammit.

What are you up to? Just because I am not in town, doesn't mean I am not eagerly awaiting your next blog entry!
Sorry to hear that you weren't feeling well. Hope that wasn't the cold I brought up to Omaha.
